Today marks the 70th anniversary of The Queen's accession to the throne and the start of celebrations for her record-breaking Platinum Jubilee. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is the only British monarch to have reached this milestone, the longest-serving female head of state of any country, and the fourth-longest reigning monarch in the history of the world.
